Thousands of stolen guns found at crime scenes

A KCRA 3 investigation has found nearly 70,000 guns have been stolen in the last five years and those guns have been used to commit other crimes. In a months-long investigation with NBC stations across California, KCRA found that this isn’t an isolated case. Many of those stolen guns end up at crime scenes.

Just this week, KCRA 3 Investigates found that a gun stolen from Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva was used in at least three crimes, including a murder. On the morning of Feb. 23, 2015, Rashawn Harris, “Ray Ray,” as his family called him, was simply waiting for a bus in the driveway of his home on Sacramento Street in Stockton.

“He said, 'Daddy bus out there,' and I said, 'I love you' and he said, 'I love you. See you when you get home,'” says his father, Willis. The 13-year-old never got on that bus. The teenager was gunned down that morning. “Don't no child deserves to die like that, no,” says Harris. “In the last couple years I've been burglarized a few different times,” Silva said.  “Before I ran for mayor,  I lived in Morada, which is…on the outskirts of Stockton in the county. And so I wasn't living in the house while I've been mayor.”

Silva didn’t report his gun, a Beretta Px4 semi-automatic pistol, missing until nearly a month after Harris’ death. "It's unfortunate. I mean I've never had anything like that happen before. It's just unbelievable. And that's the worst thing any person can think of if someone breaks into their house steals a weapon and uses it on somebody else," Silva told KCRA.

Graham Barlowe, the special agent in charge of the Sacramento office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said guns are often the target when people break into homes or businesses. “Cash is extremely valuable because it can get you a number of things. But of the commodities that we find that people that are involved in criminal activity are looking for, guns are very high on the list,” Barlowe said.

There’s plenty of evidence of that. At least seven gun stores have been targeted for burglaries in the Sacramento area in just the past few months, including two on July 14 alone. A group of five men crashed an SUV through the front door of a Rocklin gun store and climbed over the crumpled security fencing. In the same night, they hit a Folsom gun store as well. Hours later, the crew was captured by Oakland police.

"Whenever I see a stolen gun, I see a future robbery. I see a future homicide. I see a future assault," Barlowe said. On a typical day, at least 34 guns are reported as lost or stolen in California on average. That adds up to more than 12,000 a year and more than 60,000 in five years. “People don't steal guns for their collection,” Barlowe said. “They steal guns to use those guns.”

Teacher admits to sex with 16-year-old, sent him selfies during her honeymoon

Sara Domres

A former high school teacher has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a student while working at New Berlin West High School in Wisconsin, Q13 Fox reports. Sara Domres, 28, pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff, both felony charges. She will be sentenced on September 30.

According to court documents, the relationship between Domres and the 16-year-old male student began during the 2014-2015 school year. A criminal complaint states that the victim was in an English class taught by Domres, and the two “became friends and began to text each other a lot.”

Investigators found evidence on Domres’ phone of the two referring to each other as “baby boo.” Texts read, “I love you!” and, “You’re extremely attractive to me!!!” On the same day that her husband had his bachelor party during the 2015-2016 school year, Domres had sex with the boy at the Motel 6 off of Bluemound Road in the Town of Brookfield, according to court documents.  The two also allegedly had sex at the Park and Ride on Moorland Road in New Berlin in July 2015.

Investigators were able to confirm the victim’s phone had been connected to the hotel’s Wi-Fi, and Domres “paid cash” for the room. The boy also admitted that Domres sent selfies (to him) while she was on her honeymoon, according to investigators. At one point, the report says, her husband caught the two hanging out in the parking lot of a New Berlin restaurant.

Also in the complaint, detectives “determined that between May 14, 2015 and January 6, 2016, the victim sent the defendant approximately 619 text messages. Between March 29, 2015 and January 15, 2016, the defendant sent the victim approximately 555 text messages.”

Officials with the School District of New Berlin said they learned of the allegations against Domres on January 15, 2016. She was immediately placed on administrative leave. After an internal investigation by the School District of New Berlin, Domres was fired.

DOLLARNIZE.COM IS A SCAM!

A friend introduced me to this website and the deal is that for every visitor sent to their site through a link given to you, they will pay you $10 in addition to a $25 one-time sign up bonus. It sounded too-good-to-be-true to me but as an experienced online marketer, I know of Google keywords that are worth $10 per click and more, hence, I decided to investigate.

I registered with Dollarnize.com, got a referral link and within one week referred more than 3,000 people to the website. If my mathematics is very good, my commission should be more than $30,000 but I only saw $1,000+ in my account with them. Furthermore, the minimum payout amount, according to them, is $300 and since I have already surpassed that amount, I am due for payment. But when I wanted to withdraw my commission (the $1,000+), they said I should fill a survey, which I did, yet I was not able to withdraw. I sent a mail to them, via jobs@dollarnize.com, but got no response after one week.

Consequently, my conclusion about dollarnize.com is that it is a scam and should be stayed away from. It will waste your time, energy and resources. If you are one of those I referred to the website, take it as part of your contribution to this investigation because if I don’t reach their minimum payout amount, I won’t be able to discover that their program is a scam.
